Bulging Disc Exercise Program

Question: Hi, Just a quick question. I am 29 years old, and have a few lower back problems. I am a hairdresser by trade so I stand all day and hold my arms up a lot. I have had MRI's and found to have a bulging disc. Most of the time it feels fine. I walk 4 times a week. I never sit down. Could you suggest a routine of exercise for my back? Thanks so much. Great website very informative. Jennifer.

Answer: Jennifer, I would recommend a visit to a physical therapist for a personalized routine that will take into account your specific injury and your lifestyle. They will prescribe a routine to strengthen your abs as well as your back, and help to reduce the pain from your disc.
