Question: I ride a mountain bike & walk twice a day and was wondering if they would help me get to my goal, I am 28 yrs. old, weighed 150 before preg. and my doctor recommends that I need to get back to this weight due to having gestational diabetes. (help decrease my risk of getting diabetes) All my questions were answered except these 2. I have walked and rode bike all my life how far do you suggest I walk or ride at a time, and are there any excercises I can due to get rid of a double chin? Shari
Answer: Shari, It depends on your intensity. I would recommend purchasing a heart rate monitor to ensure that you're exercising at the right intensity zone to burn fat fastest. Check out the Articles section which will explain the various heart rate zones and their benefits. You can vary the time spent exercising from 20 minutes sometimes to up to an hour on other days. Your double chin will go away gradually as you consistently keep up the cardiovascular exercise.
