Best Workout with Little Time

Question: I am currently on Weight Watchers and I have started walking and doing some (a little) weight training. I don't have that much time. What do you suggest is the best way to achieve the best results??? Right now I am walking 4 or 5 times a week...only 30 minutes though and working on my biceps, triceps and chest. ANY ADVICE???? Debbie

Hello Debbie: You're on the right track! Weight Watchers is a great way to learn healthy eating and the meetings are motivational, too. 30 minutes of walking will help out a lot. Make sure your intensity is high enough. Heart rate monitors are an incredible way to measure if your walk is burning as much fat as possible. The time you spend exercising seems extremely valuable to you since you don't have much time. This way you can make sure every minute you spend walking will be pushing you closer and closer to your goal. I just added an article about working out with heart rate monitors. You can invest in them for relatively little money for the value, and they will change how you look at exercise. (Can you tell I'm excited about them?) RE: your strength training - It's great to hear you're working with weights. If you're going to spend time strengthening a few muscle groups, you might as well spend 5 more minutes balancing your structure by working the other muscle groups too. On my site, I have an in-home workout you can do in your living room with stuff you probably already have in your pantry. Try it out and keep me posted on your progress! Keep at it :)
