Exercise Motivation and Discipline

Question: I am a very thin 22 year old girl...I am about 95 lbs. I feel that when I get going on a good workout shedule, I gain more weight...but if I slack one week...I go back down again. How can I keep myself motivated to work out at least 3-4 times a week especially after those long houred work days? Danielle

Answer: Danielle, Discipline and motivation are a result of forming good habits. You have to force yourself into it at first, but the more consistent your routine is, the easier it becomes to repeat. To keep the workouts interesting, try a variety of different exercises within your routine. Tracking your progress also helps you to keep it up, as well as other motivational tricks, like repeating positive statements to yourself, and putting motivational quotes on the fridge.
