How to Tighten Upper and Lower Abs

Question: What exercise can be used to tighten the upper and lower belly? My lower belly is starting to get a little round. DB

Answer: DB, First off, watch your calorie intake. You can build your ab muscles, but unless you burn the fat on top of them, your round tummy will remain. I can't overstress the importance of drinking mega doses of water. Once you have that down, when you're doing crunches or situps, try flattening your lower back on the floor the whole time, making the arch in your back disappear. Focus your attention on contracting your lower abs, as well as your middle and upper ones. They're all one muscle, but it's easy to concentrate too much on the upper half, leaving the lower half unaffected.
