Sugar or Honey for Weight Loss

Question: What is better to use as a sweetner, sugar or honey? Also, when I eat a bowl of cereal high in fiber, am I defeating my purpose if I use sugar? What alternate would there be? Thank you very much sweet!!!!!

Answer: Dear sweet!!!!! Honey and sugar are pretty much the same. Honey is an even more-dense concentration of sucrose. I would suggest adding chopped fruit (like apples, peaches, or bananas) to your cereal as sweetener. It's not defeating the purpose to add sugar to a fibrous cereal -- the fiber still does its job, but it does add extra, unneeded calories. If you cut down on the amount of sugar (and salt for that matter) that you add to foods, you will begin to enjoy the natural flavors instead of needing flavor cover-ups.
